Shine On

Ever since she was very little, Emerson has been enthralled with all things found outside. Bugs, leaves, pine cones, water, ducks, birds and especially the sunshine. She has been loving our new house. So many new rooms to explore! However, the highlight most certainly is the fenced in backyard with the pond just beyond it. She is constantly on the lookout for peep-peeps, duck-ducks and hop-hops. These special friends show their faces daily, making for one very content little girl.

Looking out the window of the sun room, her favorite spot in the whole house.

Amid the chaos...

beautiful flowers from wonderful friends bloom! Life has been very hectic with the move as well as the construction going on at our new house (while we are trying to live in it!). I will post some pictures of the remodel soon!

After much stress, packing and anticipation, it looks like we are finally home. Many, many thanks to all our wonderful family and friends who helped us reach this point. We appreciate all of you!!

Almost

We closed on our current house yesterday (but have two weeks to get out) and we close on our new one Friday morning. Took a quick trip to the new house yesterday to see how it was handling all the rain (just fine) and were super excited to see a SOLD sign in front of it. Everything is falling into place wonderfully--much more than we could have done on our own. Now we just need to finish packing!

Can't believe in a few short days it will be ours!!

Eater Weekend

We had a very nice, although somewhat hectic, Easter weekend. Usually I am able to see my family at least once a month, but the stretch was longer this time, so I was very excited to go home for a visit.

We didn't leave for Chicago until Saturday, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went to the beach on Friday night. Emerson hadn't been since summer and we wanted to get her used to the sand again. She had a great time and didn't want to leave!

This isn't the greatest shot, but it shows Emerson playing on Grandma's porch. The rainy weather cleared by early afternoon and the sun peaked through. Em was able to play "outside" without really having to go outside--really nice!

We partied on Saturday this year, as apposed to Sunday, because we were celebrating Easter as well as my Grandpa's 85th birthday. Although the party was for my Pa, Emerson stole the show. Here she is entertaining with a rousing rendition of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"---for the hundredth time. :)

Looking Up!

Today is the start of Spring Break week around here. Lots of fun things on the agenda! If it were up to Emerson, everything we do over the next week would take place out of doors. The weather has been beautiful the last couple of days and we've been spoiled!
