He is Beautifully Made

For those of you who follow me, this week has been a little slow post-wise. It's not because I had noting to say. Quite the opposite actually. My heart is so heavy and I have been searching for the right words---words of reason, words of plea, words of prayer. One of my dear, dear friends, Katie and her husband, Kevin, received some devastating news this week about their newest little one. I still can't quite wrap my mind around it.

Katie took a huge leap of faith when she opened up her heart right there on her computer screen for all to read. Her family is hurting and YOUR words have been bringing so much comfort.

If you haven't already done so, please take a moment to visit Katie's blog, read her story and then leave her and her husband some much needed words of encouragement. Wouldn't it be cool if eventually thousands of people, millions even, were praying for Katie and Kevin's baby?

Jam Packed

My parents came up this weekend in hopes to help us with projects around the new house. We did get some accomplished, but we also took some time to enjoy ourselves...really, they took time to enjoy Emerson.

We spent some time at Tunnel Park. Emerson loves to show off her moves. One of the older girls at the playground showed her how to do this.

My dad loves Captain Sundae, so we made a quick stop there to eat some ice cream and sit on the turtle.

We ended our weekend with a trip to the mall to buy Crocs and ride on the carousel. Emerson had never been on one, but she did a great job. With the weather so nice, this weekend sure felt like summer had arrived. I've missed you, old friend. Can't wait to enjoy every minute!

Strollin'

We've been on the lookout for some fun outdoor toys for Emerson. She saw this the other day in Mom and Baby Again and fell in love. Hard to say no when someone is so excited!

Her baby went right in for a test ride.

Sunny Days

We've been blessed to move into a new neighborhood with many kids. Yesterday we spent part of the day at the beach with new friends. Wonderful weather and fun company!

Riding to the beach in style.

One Down

Today marks one year of blogging for me. I can't believe a whole year has gone by! This last year has brought many big changes for my family--my husband has taken on a new position at work (which he loves), I have taken on new responsibilities at work (which I don't love, but am feeling better about), we sold our house and we were able to find a new one that we are really enjoying.

I love having this blog to look back at to remind me of all our events. I know I don't blog everyday, but sometimes life just needs to come first. My goal for this new blogging year is to share a little bit more each month with you. There are a lot of thoughts weighing on my heart and mind that I don't always have the courage to share. I hope to push myself to step out of my comfort zone and be bold!

Frolicking

Holland's annual Tulip Time festival is in full swing. Jeremy took Emerson downtown the other day and he surprised me with pictures! Last year she was really too little to enjoy the tulips, but this year she is having a great time with the "pretties!"
