No matter how many times a day I try to redirect Emerson's attention, she always finds her way back to our cat, Owen. We have been working hard at getting her to pet him gently, and our efforts seem to be paying off. (For any of you who have the pleasure of knowing Owen, you know he does not bestow his friendliness on just anyone.) We were worried about how he would react when Emerson was born, but he has come through the past year with flying colors.

We were so worried about how our cat would react when we had kids but it is amazing how is personality changed as baby #1 and then #2 came around. He is so much more patient and friendlier than before. They still torture him sometimes but for the most part they really enjoy each other!
I think your kitty is the same size as Emerson, holy smokes. They look so cute together and it is great news that she is being gentle with him. What a great lesson for her, she will be ready for great playdates in no time.
